My name is Angela and I live in Scholes in Leeds with my husband David (a Sculptor)  and my three wonderful children. 

Many years ago now I lost my Father and my eldest Sister Julie just 6 months apart - a devastating blow for me and for our family. They are the inspiration behind Next to my Heart and one of the reasons I feel so passionate about the service I provide and the jewellery I create.

I am very privileged to have worked with so many families and independent funeral homes across Leeds and beyond for over 7 years, learning new jewellery making skills and doing truly meaningful work.  Losing a loved one is the most difficult and heartbreaking time that any of us will face and I feel truly humbled to play a small part in helping people by providing this service and support to people in Leeds and beyond.

Hand Crafted from Start to Finish

All my work is entirely hand crafted. Each piece is unique and different such as minor measurement differences, differences in gems and the uniqueness of individual fingerprints and Ashes. There may be the occasional tool mark or reminders that these pieces are hand crafted. These little details and differences are what makes each piece so special. I use the traditional technique of lost wax casting for my fingerprint Jewellery and traditional Goldsmithing for all my work.

The Significance of Fingerprints

Our fingerprints are so very special and totally unique. They are formed before we are born whilst in our mothers womb and do not change throughout our whole lives. I feel strongly that my memorial jewellery with a loved ones actual fingerprint impression has a beautiful significance that is truly special. The hand we held, the impression our loved ones 

leave on our world, a loved ones uniqueness; all these things are bound within each piece of Memorial Jewellery giving comfort and connection.

I was inspired to make an affordable alternative to the jewellery currently on the market with a subtle and modern edge. Every element is Hand Crafting using only precious Silver, Gold & Gems, the perfect quality materials for longevity and a perfect tribute to our precious loved ones passed.

Ethical & Environmentally Conscious

I endeavour to always use recycled materials in all my work processes including using recycled Gold & Silver. Recycling silver & Gold cuts down co2 emissions by 2/3 versus mined silver. It is better for the environment, reduces water usage and reduces other environmental impacts. I use when creating each piece of jewellery.

I try to source all my gems from suppliers that use ethically mined supplies.
